Consultations are intended to provide families with a clear understanding of the current block to progress, a realistic sense of future options and constraints, a clear plan for next steps, and greater confidence in understanding and monitoring support.
No. While diagnostic information can be helpful, consultancy is based on understanding a young person’s cognitive profile in relation to educational demands. Formal diagnosis is not a prerequisite.
No. My work is educational consultancy. It is analytical, research-informed, and focused on educational planning, decision-making, and systems navigation rather than therapeutic intervention.
I do liaise with school where appropriate, More importantly, I will help you get the best from your school by helping you communicate confidently and clearly.
Teaching is offered as part of an ongoing engagement where it is educationally appropriate, after an initial consultation. It is not available as a standalone service.
Consultations are one hour and structured to allow sufficient time for meaningful analysis and discussion. Practical details are confirmed following initial contact.
To create change, we need to understand what has happened, is happening and what is your desired outcome. This is the purpose of a Strategic Review. For families with more complex educational pictures, an extended strategic review is necessary.
Prior to a Strategic Review, I clinically appraise relevant documentation, which may include specialist reports, school information, and a timeline of current concerns.
